>I saw a picture on Cakespy yesterday that was pretty old, but it inspired me.
That being said; I’m going to make something for the Halloween party at work that belongs on This Is Why You’re Fat .
A co-worker inspired me to make it super Halloweeny.
SOOOOOO; here’s the idea for making my co-workers, once again, bow down to vegan food:

in a Pie Pan; in layers:
Pie crust
then a cookie layer that involves Jess of Get-Sconed’s Chick-O-Fucking-Stick Cookies
on top of that goes …well edit; on top of that goes a cake that I will make from scratch; dye orange, and add sprinkles too. Funfetti mix isn’t vegan anymore; though it once was.

Then the whole thing will be iced with the Halloween funfetti frosting that’s pictured on the cakes above. The Pillsbury mix and frosting are vegan; i always sub 1/4 c of apple sauce per egg when I use a boxed cake mix. I’m kind of torn though. I really don’t like supporting companies like Pillsbury; but I also know that the best way to win over non-vegans is by feeding them accidentally vegan food. However…my office mates trust me when it comes to sweets; so maybe i’ll make homemade pumpkin cakes to go on top instead of a boxed mix. We’ll see.
I’ll post pics when I make the mini trial versions this weekend (maybe this afternoon!)
On top of THAT I was thinking also making some of Andrea’s trick r treat cookies because they look amazing.

I like cumin and smoked paprika way more than I should, winter squashes make me happy, and while I do like most fruits, I only *love* berries and mangoes. I still think Earth Balance is the best fake butter, Vegenaise is the best vegan mayo, and Almond Milk tastes better than soy milk. Chia seeds are my favorite egg substitute for the most part, and pumpkin tends to bind better than applesauce-especially in chocolate goods. I know a lot about food and nutrition, but that doesn't mean I'm the healthiest person. I tend to avoid eating out because I know I can make food that tastes better at home.

  1. >Ohh, that sounds good! Someone should make a vegan version of the "This Is Why You're Fat" site… haha. I didn't think Funfetti mixes were vegan, though! I thought they contained milk. Hmm… must investigate.

What's in them?But if you can't do a boxed funfetti mix, you could get a Dr. Oetker's yellow cake mix, replace the applesauce with pumpkin puree, and at the last second, just fold in some sprinkles… if you toss them with a little flour they bleed and sink less.
