>Usually this blog will be used for food posts, be it recipes or product reviews. Today though, I’m really just here to vent. I have been very careful on here, in that, if my recipe or idea was inspired by another blogger or a recipe in general, I always mention that person/source as inspiration. ALWAYS. It’s important to give credit where credit is due. Celine of havecakewilltravel inspired my raw brownies with her delicious cherry version that’s far healthier than the ones I make, Joanna Vaught inspired the parma I make-i just like mine way saltier and garlickier (so not a word) and spicier, hell- Pei Wei was inspiration for 5-spice-tofu.

Well. Someone who’s blog i check out regularly has been, for the last month, posting recipes that mimic mine, always with one ingredient swapped or omitted or one little thing added (by little i mean a pinch of salt) but sometimes NOTHING is changed except what they call the dish. This person changes the name of the recipe always, and presents it as their own creative venture. This is very irritating when their posts are just a few days behind mind. It’s VERY obvious. So I tried to nicely call them out without calling them out, giving them the benefit of the doubt. What i did was comment on a recipe that was my recipe minus one ingredient (suspiciously posted 1 week after mine) with a link to my recipe and say “ooooooh it’s kind of like this eh?” And the person responds-no it’s not like that, mine is better.
OMFG. Are you joking? First of all, now I don’t believe you even clicked the link, or you’d have not been so rude to me, but now I feel the need to call you out.
The moral of the story is: plagarism sucks. If someone inspires you give them credit!!
The bottom line: if this doesn’t stop i will publicly call you out and source multiple examples.

I still think Earth Balance is the best fake butter, Vegenaise is the best vegan mayo, and Almond Milk tastes better than soy milk. Chia seeds are my favorite egg substitute for the most part, and pumpkin tends to bind better than applesauce-especially in chocolate goods. I know a lot about food and nutrition, but that doesn't mean I'm the healthiest person. I tend to avoid eating out because I know I can make food that tastes better at home.

  1. >It also pisses me off when people don't give credit where it's due. I'm an extremely fair person (to a fault sometimes) and it still bums me out to come across people who aren't. Name and shame 'em says I (plus I'm really nosey and wanna know who it is)
