Balance is important.

About laceythevegan

I'm a reader, a food lover, a crazy cat lady, an animal lover, local shopper and local music supporter. You can find me in East Nashville most of the time, shopping, having a drink at a locally owned bar, or eating food at a local restaurant. I like cumin and smoked paprika way more than I should, winter squashes make me happy, and while I do like most fruits, I only *love* berries and mangoes. I'd rather have salty snacks than sweets, and the darker chocolate is, the better. I still think Earth Balance is the best fake butter, Vegenaise is the best vegan mayo, and Almond Milk tastes better than soy milk. Chia seeds are my favorite egg substitute for the most part, and pumpkin tends to bind better than applesauce-especially in chocolate goods. I know a lot about food and nutrition, but that doesn't mean I'm the healthiest person. I tend to avoid eating out because I know I can make food that tastes better at home.

  1. Me three. That bell pepper looks insane! Is it purple, or is the lighting weird?

  2. When I read articles about how someone cured their autistic child, I become enraged. It makes me feel like people are neglecting their children. I know what it is to want some sort of hope, I get that. And there’s nothing wrong with having hope for a cure. But when such public health “experts” such as Jenny McCarthy go around telling people she cured her child, I want to punch her. She’s essentially disregarding that her child is different and that’s not okay. If you want to watch something short, where Jenny McCarthys are disputed and disproved by ACTUAL medical professionals, who you know, went to school and have done medical research, check out the Penn & Teller BULLSHIT! Show about Autism. I am not saying diet modification won’t help, but I am saying that blaming vaccinations is ridiculous. Especially when you cite some Jerk like Andrew Wakefield as your reference. Come on! There is a legit reason he lost his medical license.

Oh, yes, I’m totally stupid for agreeing with a nut job losing his license for faking research and admitting it. The guy lied about his vaccination studies and gave his false information to hopeful parents, scamming them into false hope and promoting public health threats. Because vaccinations are SO stupid and no one should ever, ever vaccinate their children. Vaccinations haven’t done anything for society whatsoever. How’s that polio treating you… and small pox?? Did you hear about the rubella outbreak?! Such an asshole I am for thinking that people who go around saying autism is curable by giving up dairy and artificial coloring are jerks. Not that I support the consumption of such products, but come on, wake up!!
