>An epic flood came to Nashville. We’ve had to conserve water for the last 9-10 days; so cooking has been..interesting to say the least. We’re still conserving water. This has been interesting honestly; I’ve only been able to shower 3 times in the last 10 days (but the hair has only been washed once), and I finally broke down yesterday and washed our sheets because I couldn’t take it anymore. The bathroom is really starting to get to me. I want to clean it SO BADLY; and I know I’m being extreme; but so many people aren’t taking this conserve water thing seriously, so I want to put forth extra effort. Vegetarian Times did (very conveniently) have a section that involved not using pots and pans to cook; and steaming or grilling things in foil, but I’m still not quite sure how I feel about cooking in aluminum foil.

I decided to give the beloved Teese another go. They’ve changed their formula and I want to love Teese…I adore what the Chicago Soy Dairy has going on and I love all their other products; so I’m determined to love Teese as well DAMNIT. Anyways; VeganEssentials.com is having a buy one, try one for free deal on Teese right now. You can purchase your flavor of choice; and then when you’re checking out, in the notes section you tell VeganEssentials which flavor you want to try. You can do this with 2; so you COULD buy 2 varieties and try the other two for free. In fact, you SHOULD do this. I’m trying the kind made for mac ‘n cheese and the new formula of Mozzarella. While I was on their site; I couldn’t resist purchasing (um) 4 flavors of StoneWall Jerkey. I remember when I worked at Wild Oats we sold that stuff; but I never tried it. Well, Whole Foods doesn’t sell it, so I don’t have access to it. So I hooked myself up.
Now, I think I’ll go to Cosmosveganshop.com and get some of those Sjaak hazelnut chocolate bites I keep hearing about.

About laceythevegan

I'm a reader, a food lover, a crazy cat lady, an animal lover, local shopper and local music supporter. You can find me in East Nashville most of the time, shopping, having a drink at a locally owned bar, or eating food at a local restaurant. I like cumin and smoked paprika way more than I should, winter squashes make me happy, and while I do like most fruits, I only *love* berries and mangoes. I'd rather have salty snacks than sweets, and the darker chocolate is, the better. I still think Earth Balance is the best fake butter, Vegenaise is the best vegan mayo, and Almond Milk tastes better than soy milk. Chia seeds are my favorite egg substitute for the most part, and pumpkin tends to bind better than applesauce-especially in chocolate goods. I know a lot about food and nutrition, but that doesn't mean I'm the healthiest person. I tend to avoid eating out because I know I can make food that tastes better at home.

  1. >Cosmos! Sound crazy about the water. Has there been bad flooding in your area?

  2. >Ah man, that flooding was crazy for you guys!!! It only flooded on the northern edge of Shelby County, so it missed me. But I had a few friends who lost everything when their homes were submerged in water. I hope your home was okay! Good luck with the water conservation stuff! BTW, I think me and Poopie Bitch are going to Nashville soon for an outing to Wild Cow with our friend John P (do you know John P … from the PPK … he lives in Nashville … he's vegan). Anyway, I'll let you know when. Maybe we can meet up too!
